DURING THE WEEKEND I was able to catch up some podcast that I don’t get a chance to listen to during the week. Podcast is great way for “sound” theologians, Bible scholars and teachers to get their messages out to us common Christian Folks. Martin Luther had only a printing press. Can you image what he could of done with podcast?
The White Horse Inn: By far my favorite of the podcast. The “cast of characters” at the White Horse Inn been discussing a year long topic of Christ in a Post Christian Era. Last four weekly episodes were: Christianity and the Secular Culture, Applying God’s Law, The Reason for God (excellent interview with Tim Keller), and the last I heard this morning A Survey of Christian Faith & Practice which the guys discuss the theological understanding (or better to say a lack of understanding) on basic Christian doctrine at a Graham crusade; of all places.
I for one is NOT surprise with their findings to their unscientific survey. Mike Horton is right to point out that modern American Christianity is Christless and in my opinion it is quickly becoming Pagan Christianity.
Renewing Your Mind with RC Sproul: He is my most respected Bible teacher/theologian. RC has an outstanding gift to educate seminary theological concept to the layman. The recent weekend broadcasts/podcasts have been a series of message on the life of Joseph. Really cool because it is my favorite Bible story.
Steve Brown, ETC Men of Honor movie download (AKA The Old White Guy): Is great podcast that is mostly of interviews of authors, news makers and topics that is of interest to Christians and is done with humor and serious commentary.
Steve Brown stresses freedom in Christ and proclaims it on his program every week. During the last few podcast he had interviewed Hugh Ross on his book More Than a Theory, Cathleen Falsani on her book The Dude Abides-The Gospel According to the Coen Brothers, and Douglas Gresham on growing up as the step son of CS Lewis.
I love these three episodes because (1) I love reading about the cosmos because black holes, galaxies, and the stars and planets because they intrigue me, (2) I am also love movies and I am a big fan of the Coen Brothers and (3) I love the Chronicles of Narnia movies.
I also enjoy the listening to his side kick Erik and he also has a nice blog, The Merry Monk.
Other podcast I listen to are The Dividing Line (even if Jame White is, you know, a Baptist, LOL), Office Hours with Scott Clark, and Issue ETC. There are more podcast that I listen too and will to make them future post on this blog.
